Your Medicare Annual Wellness Visit: Planning for Better Health.
Once a year, Medicare covers a visit focused not on a single problem, but on planning ahead — screenings, risks and goals.
What the visit covers
An Annual Wellness Visit is a planning conversation. It is different from a full physical exam, and some tests or new problems discussed may be billed separately depending on your plan.
- Update of your health and family history
- List of your current providers and medications
- Height, weight, blood pressure
- Cognitive check and fall risk review
- A personalized screening schedule
Our approach
- Use the visit to look ahead, not just check boxes.
- Agree on which screenings make sense for you.
- Write down a simple plan you can keep.
What to expect
- 1A short health questionnaire before or at check-in.
- 2Review of history, medications and risks.
- 3Discussion of screenings and vaccines.
- 4A written prevention plan for the coming year.
